The Center for Functional Nanomaterials (CFN) at Brookhaven National Laboratory is a 94,500-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility that occupies 2 floors and includes 5,000 square feet of clean rooms, wet and dry general laboratory space, office space for users and staff, vibration- and noise-controlled research areas, and anti-static flooring lab areas.
LEED Silver
This project is LEED Silver certified by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and includes roofing materials designed for energy conservation along with state-of-the-art heating and ventilation equipment that contribute towards its rating. The project requires no irrigation to meet its landscaping needs and utilizes efficient plumbing fixtures and sensor-driven faucets to reduce water usage.
